Glass Mug — Vintage Red & Pink Rose Floral Coffee Cup

This DipaliZ glass mug holds 10 fluid ounces and is printed with vintage red and pink roses. The body is clear glass, so whatever is poured into it becomes the background to the flowers. Roses on glass work differently from roses on ceramic: the color behind them changes with the drink, which makes a tea and a black coffee look like two different cups.

The story behind this design

These are garden roses rather than florist roses, which shows in the petal count and in the way several blooms are painted fully open with their centers exposed. Red and pink together is a risky pairing, and it works here because the reds are pushed toward a deep crimson while the pinks stay dusty, so the two never sit at the same intensity. A few dark leaves anchor the arrangement against a clear ground.

Frequently asked questions

Q: How much does this glass mug hold?
A: The mug holds 10 fluid ounces.

Q: Is the body glass or ceramic?
A: Clear glass, with the rose artwork printed onto the outside of the body.

Q: What roses are in the design?
A: Vintage red and pink garden roses, painted rather than drawn as flat graphics.

Q: Can I use it for tea as well as coffee?
A: Yes. A clear glass suits tea particularly well, because the color of the brew shows through behind the roses.
