The story behind this design
The trees are simplified almost to silhouettes, three depths of green stacked so the nearest row is darkest and the furthest nearly fades into the paper color. There is no sky, no sun and no animal, which keeps the eye on the date blocks. The mood is a dense northern forest in flat afternoon light.
