The story behind this design
The statue is drawn in three-quarter view with the torch arm raised clear of the frame edge, and the date band runs beneath her in a slab serif. The palette is restrained to verdigris green, cream and a single deep red accent, which keeps the commemorative tone sober. It was drawn for the semiquincentennial rather than as general patriotic decor.
