The story behind this design
This one borrows from nineteen-seventies summer-camp merchandise rather than from anything patriotic. A sunburst of tapering rays fans out behind the wording, the letters are rounded and slightly squeezed, and the whole graphic is printed with a light halftone so it looks like a shirt found in a thrift store. Dusty peach, faded teal and soft cream replace red and blue entirely, which is what lets it be worn in October without explanation.
