About This Item

Clutter core is a maximalist still-life style, and this DipaliZ napkin set applies it to an Italian table: lemons, jars, bottles and crockery crowded together on 100% polyester cloth. One set is offered in a single size. Nothing in the composition is given breathing room, which is the whole point of the style.

The story behind this design

The design piles a trattoria kitchen onto one surface: lemons still on the branch, olive oil bottles, checked jars, a stack of plates, a coffee pot, all overlapping so no object is seen whole. The palette is warm and a little sun-bleached, yellows and terracotta and a faded green. Because a clutter pattern has no focal point, it survives folding better than almost anything else on a napkin.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What does clutter core mean?
A: A maximalist still-life style where objects are crowded together with no empty space between them. This one uses an Italian kitchen as its subject.

Q: What are these napkins made of?
A: 100% polyester.

Q: Are they sold as a set?
A: Yes, as one set in a single size.

Q: Is the pattern too busy for a table?
A: It is the busiest design in the DipaliZ napkin range, and it is deliberately warm and sun-bleached rather than high-contrast, so it sits under food rather than competing with it.

Q: How should they be washed?
A: Cold machine wash with like colors and a low tumble dry. No ironing needed.

Care

Machine wash cold with like colors and tumble dry on low. Do not bleach. Polyester napkins need no ironing, and a hot iron would risk the print.
