The story behind this design
A duck is a good subject for something an animal sleeps on, because the bird itself is mostly a soft rounded mass, and the design borrows that shape language. The colourful feathers give the artwork its interest, spreading across the bed as bands of colour rather than as fine detail that a lying animal would hide. Viewed from standing height, which is how a pet bed is actually seen, it reads as a piece of pattern rather than a picture.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What is this pet bed made from?
A: The print area is 100% polyester and the underside is 100% cotton, so the printed face takes the artwork and the base grips the floor.
Q: What sizes are offered?
A: Three: 28 by 18 inches, 40 by 30 inches and 50 by 40 inches.
Q: Does the cover come off?
A: Yes. The bed closes with a zipper, so the cover can be removed for washing.
Q: Which size suits a large dog?
A: The 50 by 40 inch size. The 28 by 18 inch bed suits a cat or a small dog.
Care
Unzip and remove the cover, then machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and air dry. Do not bleach, and reassemble only once the cover is fully dry.
