The story behind this design
The humour is in the mismatch: full lacquered armour, helmet crest and all, folded into a canoe that is clearly too small for it. The paddle stroke is caught mid-pull with the water drawn as three curling lines, and the figure leans forward with the seriousness of someone on a battlefield.
