Most teddy bear artwork sits on a pale ground, and this one deliberately does not: Crimson, Graphite and Topaz Blue are strong enough that the bear has to be drawn with real contrast to hold its place. The love-in-the-air elements rise diagonally across the composition so the eye travels upward rather than settling, which gives a static character drawing some lift.
