The story behind this design
Tropical foliage is drawn here with broad, confident blades rather than fine veining, because a cut edge cannot hold detail thinner than a hairline. The leaves lean upward in a single direction, which gives a small object some height and keeps it from looking like a coaster standing up. Against a white wall the silhouette is the whole picture.
