The story behind this design

The embroidery is a small outdoor scene rather than a slogan, placed left of center where a chest badge would sit. Working in thread meant reducing the scene to a horizon line, a peak and a few conifers, and losing everything that could not survive at that scale. On black heather the stitch reads as a bright line drawing; on white it reads as a shadow.
