About This Item
This DipaliZ product is a poker deck printed with an ornate pattern in gold and black. The cards are 2.5" x 3.5" on smooth 300 gsm premium-coated cardstock, semi glossy, on a white base. The deck is a standard poker set. It is the most formal-looking back in the DipaliZ range and the closest to a traditional club deck.

The story behind this design
Gold on black is the oldest formal pairing there is, and ornament is what it was invented for: fine scrolling lines need a dark ground to read against and a warm metal tone to look deliberate rather than merely yellow. The pattern is built symmetrically so the back gives nothing away when a card is dealt upside down. Against a semi glossy coating the printed gold picks up just enough light to suggest foil without being it.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What colors is this ornate deck?
A: Gold and black, printed on a white base card.
Q: Is the gold foiled?
A: No. The gold is printed, not foiled, so there is no metallic layer that can flake off with shuffling.
Q: How is this different from the gold, green and black deck?
A: They are two listings of the same ornate family on identical stock. This one runs gold on black alone; the other adds a green to the palette, which softens the contrast.
Q: What size are the cards?
A: 2.5 by 3.5 inches, the standard poker size.
Care
Keep the deck boxed and dry. A dark back shows a white crease line clearly, so avoid bending the cards while shuffling.
