The story behind this design
Snow in red rock country never lasts long, and the scene catches it in that short window. The sandstone keeps its heat of color underneath, while a thin white line picks out every ledge and shelf on the formations. Winter in Utah is a matter of days rather than months, and a globe that freezes one of them is a more particular souvenir than a summer view would be.
