The story behind this design
The lotus is reduced to its outline, a few concentric petal arcs and nothing else, and then repeated at a single scale with generous space between each one. That spacing is the whole design decision: crowd them and it becomes a wallpaper, separate them and it becomes a Scandinavian print. The tones stay within a narrow band so the line is the only contrast.
