About This Item

The story behind this design
A bootie is a harder shape to reduce than a duck, because it has no single recognizable silhouette the way a bird or a bottle does. The drawing solves it by exaggerating the turned-over cuff and the rounded toe until the form reads at a glance, then setting the pair at a slight angle as though just taken off. Alongside the bottles and ducks it gives the border three distinctly different outlines rather than three variations on a curve.
