The story behind this design
Watercolor is an awkward medium to print, because the appeal is in the bleed and the bleed is exactly what a hard edge destroys. The cluster on the back is arranged so the hearts overlap where the washes are palest, which keeps the soft edges intact and lets the shapes read anyway. The front line is deliberately small, so the back carries the design and the front stays quiet enough for everyday wear.
