The story behind this design
Everything on this cover is something you would pick up off a beach or carry down to one: scallop and conch shells, a striped rubber ball, hibiscus heads still on the stem. They are scattered rather than arranged, as though tipped out of a bag onto warm sand, and the ground is left a pale bisque so the objects hold their edges. Coral, turquoise and sun-bleached yellow carry the palette.
