The story behind this design
The bear is painted wet into wet, so its edges bleed a little and the fur is suggested by where the pigment pools rather than by any drawn line. The palette is deliberately dusty, warm grays and a faded ochre, with the bone picked out a shade paler than the animal itself. It reads as a naturalist's sketchbook page more than a graphic, which is why it sits comfortably on the Espresso and Blue Jean shades as well as on black.
