DipaliZ Air Balloon Poker Cards 300gsm Whimsical Air

This DipaliZ product is a poker deck showing a boat at sea beneath hot air balloons. Each card is 2.5" x 3.5" on smooth 300 gsm premium-coated cardstock, semi glossy, on a white base. The deck plays as a standard poker set. It suits a holiday house, a boat, or anyone who would rather look at a scene than a repeat while waiting for a hand to be dealt.

The story behind this design

Putting a scene on a card back breaks the usual rule, since a picture has a right way up and a pattern does not. This one gets away with it because sea, boat and balloons stack into horizontal bands, so the composition still reads as a texture from across the table. Two ways of travelling, one on water and one on air, sharing a single small rectangle is the idea the design is actually about.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What does this card back show?
A: A boat on the sea with hot air balloons above it, printed as the card back.

Q: What are the cards printed on?
A: Smooth 300 gsm premium-coated cardstock with a semi glossy finish, on a white base.

Q: What size are the cards?
A: 2.5 by 3.5 inches, the standard poker size.

Q: Is this a scene rather than a pattern?
A: Yes. Most DipaliZ card backs are repeating patterns; this one is a picture, which makes it the odd deck out in the range.

Care

Keep the cards boxed and dry. A scene back shows a crease more than a busy pattern does, so shuffle gently.
