The story behind this design
Sun-and-moon prints usually go cosmic and cold, and this one goes the opposite way and puts them in a seventies palette of burnt orange, rust and cream. Each face is drawn with the same rounded, slightly sleepy expression, and the rays are short, blunt shapes rather than fine points. Scattering the two motifs at different sizes across the cover keeps the repeat from lining up into rows.
