The story behind this design
The leaves were drawn large and overlapping, then pushed so dark that the pattern reads almost as texture until you look closely. Deep green separates the fronds, and a handful of pale stems are left light so the eye has somewhere to land. The mood is a garden after dusk rather than a tropical print.
