The story behind this design
Buffalo check is usually red and black and usually shouts, and dropping it into beige and gray changes what the pattern is for. At this scale the squares are large enough that only four or five run across the face of the pillow, so the grid reads as blocks rather than as a texture. The darker square formed where the two bands cross does all the contrast work, which is why no third color is needed anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What sizes does this floor pillow come in?
A: The DipaliZ Buffalo Check Floor Pillow is sold in two square sizes, 26 by 26 inches and 30 by 30 inches.
Q: What is buffalo check?
A: Buffalo check is a large two-color grid where the overlapping bands make a third, darker square at every crossing.
Q: What colors is the check?
A: Neutral beige and gray, rather than the traditional red and black.
Q: Can it be used as a meditation seat?
A: Yes. A 26 or 30 inch square floor pillow gives a wide, low seat, which is why floor pillows this size are often used for seated practice.
Care
Spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, working gently around the tufted dimples. Let the pillow air dry fully before use. Do not machine wash, tumble dry or bleach.
