The story behind this design
Burgundy and green is red and green with the volume taken out, and the difference between the two pairings is entirely saturation. Dulling both colors moves the stripe from December to October, and adds a third quality neither bright color has: it looks worn in from the first day. The stripe widths are uneven, which is what stops the pattern reading as institutional.
