The story behind this design
The butterflies are drawn one wing at a time rather than stamped from a single shape, so no two in the repeat sit at quite the same angle. DipaliZ kept the palette to warm ambers, ink blues and a bruised violet against an open ground, which gives the swarm room to breathe. Read close up it is entomological; read from a distance it is simply movement across cloth.
