The story behind this design
Camouflage was designed to break up an outline, and on a bucket hat that effect is oddly flattering: the irregular blotches disguise the seam lines of the crown. The patches here are drawn at a mid scale, large enough to read as camo from across the street and small enough that the brim still shows three or four of them.
