The pineapples are drawn small and tilted at slightly different angles, so the repeat never settles into rows and the eye keeps moving across the fabric. Yellow and green carry the fruit, and the ground is left a warm off-white rather than a tropical blue, which stops the dress from reading as beachwear only.
