The story behind this design
Vintage rose prints were originally made for wallpaper and china, both glazed or coated surfaces, which is why this pattern looks more at home on ceramic than on paper. The blooms are open and slightly blown rather than tight buds, with the greens pushed grey so nothing competes with the pink. In the Matte finish it passes for an old tile; in Glossy it looks new, and both readings are intended.
