The story behind this design
Cherry blossom is nearly always drawn pink on white, which is pretty and slightly expected. Setting it on soft mint instead does two things: the green reads as the leaf that has not opened yet, and it cools the pink enough that the whole cloth stops looking sugary. The branches are drawn thin and dark so the blossom has something to hang from, in the Japanese convention rather than as a floating floral scatter.
