The story behind this design

The branches enter at one corner and leave at the other, which gives the design a direction most floral prints lack. Blossoms are painted in three tones of pink, palest at the open petals and deepest in the unopened buds, and the bark is a dry grey-brown drawn with a nearly empty brush. Negative space is left deliberately wide so the camera cut-out never crowds a flower.
