The story behind this design

Scaled down for a toddler chest, the rabbit-and-chicks drawing had to lose detail rather than size, so the flock is reduced to five birds instead of a crowd and the rabbit's expression is simplified to two dots and a line. What survives is the joke, which is all a two-year-old's shirt needs to carry. Six grounds were chosen so the design works for an egg hunt photograph in almost any light.
