The story behind this design
The artwork imitates the structure of a knitted Christmas sweater on purpose: banded rows, zigzag borders and repeating motifs stacked in horizontal tiers, drawn so the shapes look slightly pixelated the way a real knit does. The palette is cheerfully wrong, reds beside greens beside a sharp cream. It is a drawing of a bad sweater, which is a different thing from a bad drawing.
