The story behind this design

The abstract print works in blocks rather than motifs: flat fields of color butted up against one another, with a few hand-drawn lines running over the joins to stop the shapes reading as tiles. The palette jumps between saturated brights and muddier in-between tones, which is what keeps the eye moving instead of settling. On a garment printed edge to edge, the effect is closer to a painted canvas than to a shirt with a graphic on it.
