The story behind this design
Stripes are the oldest pattern there is and the easiest to get wrong, because the only decisions available are width, order and color. This band varies all three: the stripes are unevenly spaced, the sequence does not repeat symmetrically, and the colors jump between warm and cool rather than running through a spectrum. The result looks hand-placed rather than generated, which is the difference between a stripe you notice and a stripe you do not.
