The story behind this design
The bright palette is a deliberate argument with the way Antarctica is normally drawn: giving each region a saturated wash makes the continent look inhabited by geography rather than empty. Edges are left bleeding into one another as watercolor does. The place names sit on top in a plain hand so nothing competes.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Which continent does this map show?
A: The map shows Antarctica, labeled with its region names, in a colorful watercolor treatment.
Q: What frame colors are available?
A: The ayous wood frame is available in black, red oak or white.
Q: How many sizes are there?
A: Thirteen sizes are offered, from 8x10 inches up to 24x36 inches, including five square shapes.
Q: How does this differ from the other DipaliZ Antarctica map poster?
A: Both name the same regions. This is the colorful version, with a stronger palette across the regions, while the other keeps its washes closer to a single range.
Care
Dust the frame and glazing with a dry, soft cloth. Bright washes hold longest away from direct sun, so avoid a wall that catches afternoon light.
