DipaliZ Cosmic Stainless Steel Travel Mug

The DipaliZ Cosmic Travel Mug is insulated stainless steel and holds 15 fluid ounces. A galaxy field wraps the body: stars, nebula color and deep space with no horizon line. Astronomy is a hobby that happens in the cold and the dark, which makes an insulated steel mug a more useful gift for a stargazer than almost anything else at the same price.

The story behind this design

A convincing galaxy needs three star sizes, not one: pinpricks for the background field, mid-sized stars for structure and a handful of large ones with faint diffraction spikes. This design uses all three, with the nebula color kept to two hues so it does not slide into the rainbow soup most space prints become. The darkest passages are near-black rather than navy, which lets the stars actually read.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What is the capacity of this cosmic travel mug?
A: The mug holds 15 fluid ounces.

Q: What is printed on it?
A: A galaxy field of stars, nebula color and deep space, wrapped around the steel body.

Q: Is the mug insulated?
A: Yes. It is an insulated stainless steel travel mug, made for holding a hot drink on a commute or an early start.

Q: Would this suit an astronomy gift?
A: Yes. Anyone who observes at night ends up drinking something hot outdoors, and a steel insulated mug is the cup that survives being set down on frozen ground.
