The story behind this design
An aurora and a sunset are the same problem drawn twice: bands of color that have to blend without turning to mud. This design keeps the transitions wide and the palette short, so the gradient still reads at arm's length across a room. On the darker grounds the light end of the band does the work; on White the darker end does. That is why the same print looks like a different garment in Pepper and in Chambray.
