The story behind this design
The lily is drawn with the stem entering low and the flower opening high on the chest, which uses the vertical of the garment rather than fighting it. Petals are suggested by three or four strokes each and left open at the tips. On the sand and light pink grounds the line reads warmer than it does on white.
