About This Item
The DipaliZ cute duckling mug is a ceramic cup sold in 11 fl oz and 15 fl oz. The mug reads We tried, we waddled, we napped beneath an illustration of small ducklings. The phrase is a summary of a day in which very little was achieved and nobody minded. The story behind this design
The three clauses are stacked one above the other so the eye reads them as a countdown, and the ducklings beneath are drawn mid-action to match: one upright, one mid-waddle, one lying flat with its eyes shut. Soft yellow, a warm bill orange and a single grey shadow line make up the entire palette, and the outlines are loose enough to look hand-drawn rather than vectored. The napping duckling is the punchline, and the artwork gives it the most room.
