The story behind this design
Each frog is drawn as a rounded blob with two large eyes on top, which is close to how a frog actually looks from above the water. Lily pads are flat green discs with a single notch cut out of each, floating at different angles. Setting it all on mid-blue rather than dark water keeps the scene daytime and light.
