Watermelon and monsters are both about bite marks, so the drawing puts them together and lets the evidence tell the story: a wedge of fruit with a scalloped edge where the mouth has been. The monster is built from soft ovals with two mismatched eyes and no teeth worth worrying about. Island Reef and Lagoon Blue were chosen because a blue-green shirt makes the watermelon's pink read as loudly as it can.
