The story behind this design

The skull is built from hard planes and panel lines, closer to a helmet than a cranium, with the neon blue reserved for the seams between plates so the light appears to come from inside. Everything else stays near black, which is what makes the glow read as glow rather than as bright paint. Small circuit traces run out from the jaw and dissolve into the ground, giving the design somewhere to go when it wraps around the body.
