The story behind this design
White flower forms are scattered across a deep green field here, abstracted far enough that the petals read as marks rather than botany. The green is almost black in the gaps, which throws the pale shapes forward and gives the pattern its depth. Repeating the motif unevenly, rather than on a grid, is what keeps a dark cushion from looking like upholstery fabric.
