The story behind this design
Wrapping paper is torn apart within seconds of being handed over, so the pattern has to work at a glance and at close range at the same time. The leaves are drawn individually and scattered loosely rather than tiled, which means no two wrapped parcels look alike. Warm ochres and rusts sit against a pale ground, so ribbon in almost any color reads cleanly on top.
