The story behind this design
Butterflies repeat at an even spacing with their wings drawn open, each one detailed down to the veining. The repeat is regular rather than scattered, which gives the print the orderly feel of an old entomology plate. Against a brushed surface the fine wing lines soften just enough to stop the pattern looking clinical.
