The story behind this design
Velveteen takes a print differently from a flat woven fabric: the pile catches light at an angle, so fine outlines soften and large shapes gain depth. The decorations here were drawn as solid forms for that reason, with the snowman and the spruce given enough mass to survive the nap. Spreading the motifs rather than tiling them tightly means that at the smallest size the blanket still shows several complete objects instead of a cropped repeat.
