The story behind this design
Christmas socks are usually a joke worn once, and the way out of that is pattern rather than picture. This repeat is built from small geometric festive shapes, so from a normal viewing distance it reads as an ordinary patterned sock and only resolves into Christmas motifs up close. Sublimation printing is what allows the pattern to run unbroken over the heel and toe, which is where a knitted festive sock usually gives up and goes plain.
