The pattern is drawn on a repeating grid, then the grid is broken on purpose — some cells hold a full shape, some hold only a sliver of one, so the eye keeps moving instead of settling. The colors are set at full saturation next to each other with no neutral between them, which is what gives the bed its lift. It is a mandala logic applied to a rectangle.
