The story behind this design
Flyknit takes print differently from canvas — the knit texture breaks the image up very slightly, so the leaves read as woven into the shoe rather than stamped on it. The pattern was drawn at a small scale for exactly that reason: a large leaf would lose its outline across the flex points at the toe, while a dense scatter keeps reading as foliage however the shoe bends. Warm russets sit against cooler greens so the pair does not turn into a single block of brown.
