The story behind this design
Flame is the hardest of the four elements to draw without cliché, and the answer here is to keep it dark: deep reds and near-blacks with the brightest orange restricted to a few edges. The forms lick upward from the sole towards the collar, which gives the shoe a direction the other elements designs do not have. A yin yang sits inside the flame.
