The story behind this design
The scene is a small autumn tableau rather than a repeating pattern: foxes settled on a fallen log, pumpkins gathered at its base, and leaf litter filling the space around them. The palette is built from the warm end of the spectrum — burnt orange, ochre and moss — with the fox coats picking up the same rust as the pumpkin stems, so the animals and the harvest read as one scene. It was drawn for a table set for a long, slow meal.
