The story behind this design
A peacock is almost impossible to draw badly and very easy to draw boringly, so this one gives the tail almost no room and spends everything on the neck — that particular blue that has no equivalent in paint. The head crest is drawn as separate strokes rather than a shape, which is how it actually reads at a distance. The bird faces out of the frame, so the composition has somewhere to go.
